What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is an exfoliation method that works with ten gauge scalpels to scrape off the upper top layer of dead skin cells from your face. As a cosmetic procedure, the scalpel is gently scraped along the face to remove the top part of the epidermis layer and small hairs, also known as peach fuzz. By scraping off dead skin cells and peach fuzz, your skin is left smoother than ever before, and you can fully take advantage of any skin care treatment out there.

Dermaplaning is purely an exfoliating treatment, as it can be combined with multiple treatments to enhance its effects. Some treatments that can be combined with dermaplaning include:

  • Enzyme Peels: Enzyme peels work with an enzyme exfoliate to target and feel away under layers of skin. When combined, this treatment can help reduce fine lines, dark spots, and deep folds.
  • Custom Chic Facials: Facial treatments can be more fully absorbed when combined with dermaplaning. Depending on what you’re seeking from your skin, this combo can help reduce wrinkles, brighten dull skin, and even treat areas of acne.

Medical esthetic treatments go far beyond the mud baths, fruit peels, and therapeutic massages found at most day spas. Treatments at many medical spas and health clinic offices are more intense and offer more noticeable results.

Esthetic medicine includes all procedures in esthetics, except surgical procedures requiring an operating table and general anesthesia. Medical grade esthetic procedures include dermal fillers, permanent hair reduction, acne treatments, chemical peels, hydrafacials and many more.

We also recommend that you schedule future appointments in advance to ensure your preferred time is available, as nights and Saturdays are the most requested times.

All booked appointments will be confirmed by our staff via a telephone call or text reminder or email a day or two before your appointment. Please provide us with a valid email address. Scheduling an appointment is your acceptance of these policies.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to prepare for your treatment. As we are a medical spa, we require new patients to fill out a brief medical history information and consent form.

If you are scheduled for dermal fillers, laser treatments or special peels we recommend you arriving 15 minutes prior to your appointment time so that we can properly prepare you skin for the treatment.

Our scheduling is designed to permit the correct amount of time to complete your service. A late arrival will deprive you of precious treatment time. In fairness to others, your treatment must end on time so the next patient’s session can begin on time.

If you are not able to be on time we will do our best to complete as much of your treatment as possible.

With some treatments, it may be necessary to reschedule your appointment.
